How can I get to Gloucestershire Clean Ears?

We are based at The Health Hub, Sapphire Road, Cleevelands, Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham, GL52 7YU. We are based on the 2nd floor, there are stairs and lift access.

If coming from Cheltenham you would take the Evesham Road out towards Bishops Cleeve, pass Cheltenham Racecourse. Then merge onto the A435, continuing to the roundabout where you will see the sign for Cleevelands. Take the first turning right past the Coop, the car park is at the back.

If coming from Tewkesbury, take the A46 west out of Tewkesbury, turning right onto the B4079, before turning right onto the A435. Continuing until your reach the roundabout where you’ll see the Cleevelands sign. Take the first turning right past the Coop, the car park is at the back.

Where can I park my car?

Parking is available on site, with spaces outside the front and a designated car park at the rear of the building (behind the Coop). When you enter The Health Hub you will be asked to you provide your registration number to log your free 3 hours parking. This is required to avoid a ticket from the private car park enforcement company.

Do you have step-free access?

Yes the building is step free from both accesses (front and back) with a lift to the 2nd floor. Access is wide enough to accommodate an average sized wheelchair. Disabled toilets are located in the waiting room on the 2nd floor. 

Do you provide masks and hand sanitiser?

You are welcome to wear a face mask. We do have face masks to wear on arrival, please ask. Hand sanitiser is also available.

I want to reschedule my appointment, is this possible?

Wherever possible we will reschedule your appointment as necessary but request as much notice is given as possible.

When should I arrive at my appointment?

You should arrive for your appointment 5-10 minutes beforehand, there is a waiting room available. You will be called through to the clinic room at your designated appointment time as there may be a patient still in before you.

I want to cancel my appointment, is this possible? And a refund/cancellation fee?

Yes you can cancel your appointment by calling or emailing us. There is no cancellation fee. Cancellations must be made a minimum of 48 hours before the appointment, otherwise no refund will be given.

What is your availability like?

There are a range of different clinic times to cater for all people, day, evening and weekend appointments are available. Our availability can vary, take a look at our online booking system or calling us.

Should I do anything to my ears before I come for my appointment?

Olive oil should be used in your ears 3-5 days before you come for your appointment. This helps to soften any hard wax, making it easier to remove.

If you have not used olive oil this is fine.

If you take any prescribed medications or have a current treatment regime from your GP or consultant this should be continued as normal, just notify us during your consultation.

What if I need to be seen again?

In some cases we may not be able to remove all of the ear wax at your appointment, we will include follow up session for this. There is no additional charge.

will microsuction hurt?

Microsuction is generally pain free and a comfortable procedure however everyone has different sensitivity thresholds. If your ear is inflamed or sore, or your ears are impacted with ear wax there may be some discomfort, itching felt. The clinician will talk you through this during your appointment.

How much will the treatment cost?

Full treatment cost is £90.

This includes the £35 consultation fee, covering otoscopy of the ear, ear health assessment and hearing check.

A further £55 is payable on the day if there is ear wax and microsuction is undertaken.

This covers both ears. If ear wax removal cannot be undertaken in one session a free follow up session is provided.

When do I pay for the treatment?

£35 is payable on booking to secure your consultation.

If ear wax removal is required £55 is payable on the day.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment can be made in the form of cash or card. We accept all major credit cards.

Do you offer discounts?

We reward loyalty and regular clients will have a discount from the total price of £90 from their second appointment onwards.

NHS, teachers and emergency workers receive 10% off microsuction only. Proof will be required to obtain discount.

Do you treat children?

We are fully insured to treat children over the age of 12, however they must be able to sit still and follow instructions.

It may be that otoscopy can be performed and a referral is made for follow up treatment with ENT.

Is this clinic registered & insured?

The clinic and clinicians are fully insured and hold public liability insurance. The clinician holds professional body registration please see our about me page for more details of our qualifications and professional associations.

Can my partner/friend come with me?

You are welcome to bring a partner or friend with you to your appointment.
